Jamie and Ricky Borain celebrated their marriage with a party atop a NYC inspired roof-top bar, over looking Cape Town’s CBD. Kicking the idea of a traditional wedding out the door, they opted for modern and minimal elegance, across some of Cape Town’s trendiest bars, hidden courtyards and concrete jungle landscapes.

The vibe they envisaged for their wedding was a ‘night out on the town’ rather than a formal wedding. Jamie and Ricky chose mixed seating areas – lounge pockets, cocktail tables, dining tables – and let their guests sit or stand where they wanted to. My favourite memory from their day was sneaking away from the venue after the ceremony so they could have a gin together at their favourite gin bar. The gin bar is in a secret courtyard only accessible by walking through a chocolate shop – it is beautiful and intimate, and the perfect place to spend some time together as newly-weds. It was here that they wanted to go for a drink rather than do a traditional couple shoot and I loved the idea!!!
