I studied photojournalism, then used my photography to travel to Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong. Upon moving back to Cape Town I decided to start up VinylRae Photography after a few friends asked me to photograph their weddings. I quickly realised that I loved what I was doing, and there was a possibility I could make a career out of it.


My goal is to create the most honest, wildly romantic images possible for my couples. I combine two things very close to my heart, my love of nature and landscape photography, with love.

Do you travel for weddings & Are the travel expenses included in your packages?

Yes! VinylRae does travel for weddings anywhere in South Africa and is available worldwide.


We are based in Cape Town and will travel up to 100km free of charge, but after that AA rates will be applied and a travel expense will be incorporated into your chosen package depending on your wedding destination.

How long will I wait for my photos?

You can expect your wedding photos to be completed within 4-6 weeks. For all other shoots you can expect the photos within 3 weeks. I will always let my clients know if there is going to be a short delay.

How many photos will I receive?

This depends on the package you choose.


On average I deliver between 600-800 images for a full wedding day (10 hours of coverage). For portrait shoots you can expect 50-80 images for a one hour shoot in colour and black and white.

Do you edit all the photos I receive?

Yes, all the photos you receive are edited by me.

Do I receive high resolution images?

Yes, all images given to you are edited, high resolution photographs. I will send you a link to access all your images online.

Can I have access to all the unedited images?

Unfortunately not, I will select the most appropriate images and then edit them with a particular grade and style.

Can I give my other suppliers copies of the photos?

Unfortunately not!
